Annotation:SREB's goal with this publication is to illustrate how states can design a 12th-grade course that can result in more students being ready for college and careers. The report defines and describes the mathematics readiness standards that are needed to prepare high school students for success in their next step. It provides samples of classroom activities and assessments for each indicator to help teachers get students to the readiness level required to enter postsecondary mathematics courses without needing remediation. This guide can be used at the state, district, school and classroom levels to help more students transition successfully to careers and credit-bearing postsecondary mathematics courses.
