The paper outlines a number of recommendations for creating a system that enables people to access postsecondary training and education throughout their lives that will enable them to secure high-skill, high-wage, or high-demand jobs.
Annotation:This ACTE position paper focuses on improving postsecondary success through the experiences and resources of career and technical education. ACTE recommends postsecondary expectations for all; an integrated education system; curricula that link to careers and ensure lifelong learning; portability of credits; enhanced student supports; increased financial support; and innovative approaches to funding. The paper also strongly stresses the need to create a system that enables people to access postsecondary training and education throughout their lives that will enable them to secure high-skill, high-wage, or high-demand jobs.
